First Presbyterian Church Norfolk has a diverse and intergenerational membership. There are families within the congregation whose ancestors sat in our Sanctuary pews over a hundred years ago. There are military families who just recently arrived in Norfolk.
We are of many ethnicities. Our ages range from precious babies born last week to those approaching their 100th birthday. We are families, singles, married, divorced, and widowed. We are students, military, white collar, blue collar and everything in between. We are diverse.
We are God's Kingdom.
Joining First Presbyterian Church is a big step in your faith journey. If you are considering membership, we know you probably have some questions about our beliefs, our pastors, our staff and exactly what a commitment to membership at FPC means. We are here to guide you through that process.
FPC101 is an introductory class designed to help you get to know our church (beliefs, staff, mission) and to learn what membership means to us. FPC101 is offered several times a year. These classes are currently scheduled:
Please visit our events page to register for the next class.
MEET OUR SESSION:
After you complete FPC101, you will meet with our Session for an informal meet and greet. This occurs on the 3rd Monday of the month. There you will reaffirm your answers to the following questions:
Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?
Do you renounce sin in your life and in the world?
Do you desire to grow in your relationship with Jesus?
Do you want to join the church.
NEW MEMBER SUNDAY:
This is a time to stand before the congregation and be introduced as new members of FPC Norfolk! We are so glad you are here! This occurs on the 4th Sunday of the month.
