Men’s Running Team
FPC Men's running team is a group of committed Christian runners who usually gather early to run Norfolk's high-ways and by-ways. Specifically, the Early Birds, a small faction within the larger team, are found at the church during the work week (normally Wednesdays; other times Mondays and Fridays, as well). These Birds meet at 5:30am to run as much as six, and as little as three or four miles. On Saturday, the main running day, the whole team meets at the church at a time to be decided to run a longer length. The team is contemplating several competitive runs. Some have searched out and found interesting runs of varying lengths in other states; e.g., Florida, Tennessee and California. Most will run Virginia Beach's Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon.

All men are welcome and invited! Contact Wynter Benda [phone: 382-6468] for more information.

Novel Men
The Novel Men Book Discussion Group is a great opportunity to feed your spirit, body and mind. You'll enjoy good fellowship, eat great food and engage your brain in stimulating conversations.

We discuss fictional characters who are 'novel' men, who find themselves in interesting situations that require decisive, thoughtful and moral responses. The characters face difficult, sometimes life-and-death choices that affect the lives of others. In many cases, the characters demonstrate the best and worst of what men may do in trying circumstances. The Novel Men book list includes classics and Pulitzer Prize winners, and books that you may not have heard of, but which you will definitely find thought-provoking. Many on this season's list have been made into movies, which provide another dimension of discussion and enjoyment.

Meet the 3rd Sunday of each month at various restaurants around town. Please feel free to invite a friend to participate. Check the Events page of this website for meeting sites each month.

Men on Mission
A group of men willing to do light construction, painting, and clean-up projects for church members and nonprofit organizations in the local area. Projects usually last one day (Saturday). Information about upcoming projects will be available through church bulletins and announcements. A list of interested volunteers will also be used to solicit participants. A major goal of the group is a week-long mission project in another state next year.
