“Gear for The Glory” is  an outreach that collects sports related gear for distribution to poor and needy youth.  In most third world countries and in
many places here in the United States, the youth are forgotten and left  to fend for themselves.  With little  else to do, they often find themselves heading down a path of  violence, lawlessness and despair.

We believe that organized sports  can provide a life changing experience for these youth.  We all know how learning to work with and  respect others,
learning to follow rules and setting personal goals is important. We want to  help give these children an exciting, inviting and safe opportunity to improve their lives, find  happiness and learn to be productive citizens.  

While sports may tone the mind and  body the soul can always use some attention.  Building respect in themselves and knowing  that someone cares about them is vital for children to grow.  The gear that we collect will be  distributed to faith based organizations such as Young Life ( Vida Joven)  in
Nicarauga.  They will use  the equipment to coordinate the sports, teams and activities as part of their  offering to show that there are people that care about the children and there are places to  go to be safe, learn, grow and have fun.

The items that we are looking to  collect are:

Baseball bats and balls, basketball nets, volleyballs        

Cash donations are extremely helpful in allowing us to  purchase exactly what the Young Life leaders need and additional items such  as pumps and nets.  Please no shoes or socks and only items in good or new condition.
