IN BOLD ACCORD
Since our founding sometime before 1678, First Presbyterian Norfolk has been an inviting, vibrant people. Our ancestors united under the bold desire TO KNOW GOD AND BE KNOWN BY HIM. This new way of living sparked a congregational vitality that has inspired generations of believers to seek Christ and reflect His love.
Our sanctuary, dedicated in 1912, is a tangible legacy of this passion and spirit of fellowship, celebrating the beauty of God’s presence in our midst. The bell tower intentionally extends well above the tree line so that our church is visible throughout the community. When the bells peal, our neighbors hear their ringing as a call to worship, celebration, and prayer. Inside, our magnificent J. W. Walker pipe organ soarsto a majestic ceiling alongside the exquisite program of windows illustrating the Old and New Testament foundations for the life and ministry of Christ.
We are blessed to be able to gather in this place, resplendent in the glory of God and emblematic of our calling to share His joyful grace with all people.
Now more than 100 years old, our Sanctuary is in need of significant repair and renovation to maintain its structural integrity. Please prayerfully consider donating to this work to help preserve our beautiful worship space for current and future generations.
